Lions vs. Raiders live stream: Watch NFL Preseason Week 1 online
The Detroit Lions face the Oakland Raiders on Friday, Aug. 10 in Week 1 of the 2018 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Things are going to be different for both the Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders in the 2018 season. Obviously the biggest reason for these changes is the simple fact that new regimes have taken over on the sidelines for both teams. In Oakland, it’s all about the return of Jon Gruden as he looks to restore the team to its former glory. Then there’s Detroit, who is looking apparently to build a new version of the Patriots, starting with the hiring of Matt Patricia.
Patricia is clearly taking the Lions in a different direction than what we’ve seen from this team in years past. While they have seen some success, they’ve been predictable as their defense has been middle-of-the-road and the offense has been almost entirely upon the shoulders of Matthew Stafford. That’s the case no more, though, with Detroit focusing heavily on building the run game and also working to improve the defense.
Things are perhaps slightly less clear as to what’s going on with the Raiders now that Gruden has taken his post back. While he’s a good football mind and has tremendous talent with the likes of Derek Carr, Amari Cooper and the absent-from-camp Khalil Mack, it’s been a while since he’s been in the coaching ranks, and some of the things he says are concerning. Still, he’s earned enough clout to have the chance to prove himself.
Details for Friday’s game are below:
Date: Friday, Aug. 10
Start Time: 10:30 p.m. ET

As the Raiders begin the Gruden era (again), there are going to be an inordinate amount of eyes around the league on this team. That may be even more the case given the stars they have. And for the Lions, well, if Patricia is anything like his mentor, they like it with the other team taking all the attention.
