The Seahawks were awarded to Seattle in 1974 and the team played its’ first game in 1976. Since then the Seattle Seahawks have had some historic players, including many members of the 2013-14 Super Bowl team.
While the Seattle Seahawks only won their first Super Bowl a few years ago, well after the first time they took the field in 1976, the organization still has a ton of storied athletes and a rich history. While you’ll see a lot of recent names on this list, be aware of some of the older ones who played on less successful Seahawks teams.
Honorable Mentions
Kam Chancellor SS (2010-Present)
Kam Chancellor is best known as the enforcer of the Legion of Boom. Built like a linebacker, he drove fear into the hearts of any wide receiver that dared to challenge him. Sadly his career seems to be at an end, but he will forever be remembered in Seattle for his game-changing hits.
Matt Hasselbeck QB (2001-2010)
Matt Hasselbeck led the Seahawks to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance during the 2005-06 season but they lost. During his ten year run in Seattle, he became the franchise leader in passing yards and pass completions. Hasselbeck made the Pro Bowl three times and got the Seahawks to the playoffs in six seasons.
Joe Nash DT/NT (1982-1996)
Joe Nash only made the Pro Bowl once and was named a First Team All-Pro in the same season, 1984. The big man spent his entire 15-year career with the Seahawks and racked up 47.5 sacks from the interior of the defensive line.
Bobby Wagner MLB (2012-Present)
Bobby Wagner is the best player on the Seahawks currently and will make a case for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) Award this season. If he avoids injury and continues at his current pace he’ll crack the top ten within the next two seasons and then sky-rocket up the list, especially if he gets that DPOY Award.
Dave Brown CB (1976-1986)
He played 15 seasons in the NFL, 11 with the Seahawks, as a cornerback. While in Seattle Dave Brown earned his only Pro Bowl, recorded 50 interceptions, and ran five picks back for touchdowns. His 50 interceptions are by far a franchise record. Brown had six seasons where he recorded five or more interceptions. In his entire career, he intercepted 62 passes, tying him for tenth all-time.
