The Minnesota Vikings face the Denver Broncos on Saturday, Aug. 11 in Week 1 of the 2018 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Despite how badly they were beaten down in the NFC Championship Game last year, the Minnesota Vikings were ultra close to contending for a Super Bowl one season ago. Now they enter a new campaign having made big, bold moves to try and take them to the next level. Interestingly enough though, they start the preseason by taking on the Denver Broncos and the man that they didn’t bank on another year with.

It was Case Keenum that led Minnesota to the conference championship last season, but they obviously elected to do something differently with the position. That was to the benefit of the Broncos, who went out and signed Keenum in free agency, answering their biggest problems form a season ago. Their defense also lost Aqib Talib via trade, but they are overall an incredible unit still, one similar to the one that led them to a Super Bowl win two years ago.

As for the Vikings, instead of Keenum, they went out and landed the biggest fish in free agency, Kirk Cousins. By signing him to an unprecedented fully-guaranteed contract, they stated clearly that they believe he can take them farther than Keenum was able to. With one of the most complete rosters on both sides of the ball in the NFL, if that belief holds true, this team could indeed win a title.

Pitting Keenum and the Broncos against his former team surely isn’t a coincidence, and it’ll be fun to see how he performs. However, it’d be a lie to say that most eyes won’t be on Cousins and the Vikings to see how this team looks with their new leader on offense.
