29. Chicago Bears (26)

With John Fox coaching the team, things got ugly. The idea was that Fox could make the Chicago Bears a feared defense once again and his hiring really wasn’t a bad one. While he has no Super Bowl ring, he did take his past two teams to the big game. Chicago had hoped the third time would be the charm and that Fox could finally win it all — unlike with Carolina and Denver where he had come up just short.

He never came close to the success he had in his previous stops. Fox was 14-34 for the Bears and was let go after three-straight last-place finishes in the NFC North. He was replaced with the offensive-minded Matt Nagy, who hopes to get the most out of rookie quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

After one game, it seems like there’s a lot of work to do. As always, we have to exercise caution in these ‘practice’ games, but the fact is the offense looked disorganized. Trubisky completed just 2-of-4 passes for four yards. It’s still too early to tap out, but the second-year quarterback has to start looking more comfortable running an NFL offense. Their division is simply too good to not be on top of your game and expect to stay alive.
