The San Francisco 49ers face two scrimmages and a game with the Houston Texans in Preseason Week 2. We look at five questions surrounding the team.

Though their preseason opener with the Dallas Cowboys ended in victory, there are still plenty of questions surrounding the San Francisco 49ers heading into Week 2 of the 2018 NFL preseason.

The Niners will receive a stern examination in Houston this week as they face the Texans in two scrimmages and an exhibition game.

Here we look at the five most pertinent questions the 49ers will look to answer as they ramp up preparations for the regular season.

Can they stay healthy?

The 49ers have dodged numerous injury bullets in camp and preseason, Jerick McKinnon’s calf strain being the latest near-miss. But the list of potential starters or key contributors dealing with issues, as detailed by the Bay Area News Group’s Cam Inman below, is getting pretty ridiculous.

With two high-intensity scrimmages and a game with the Texans on the horizon, the 49ers would be forgiven for being nervous about sustaining more injuries. While the Niners will obviously be eager to impress in Houston, getting more players back healthy, and avoiding further injury blows will remain the top priority.
