Josh Rosen will see first team snaps as the Arizona Cardinals travel to New Orleans in Week 2 of the 2018 preseason.

The Arizona Cardinals will play the New Orleans Saints on the road. Steve Wilks announced that both Sam Bradford and Josh Rosen will get more offensive snaps.

Wilks announced that Rosen will get some reps with the first team offense.

Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com reports the following:

"Rosen’s work with the first team will be eagerly anticipated, not only to see his progress but to see how he can do with the starting offensive line – because the struggles of the second-unit offensive line did not help the quarterback in his debut."

Bradford has been the declared starter by the Cardinals. Evidently, the second team offensive line is still a work in progress. The team must feel that Rosen needs the opportunity to show his talents with the starters blocking for him.

First of all, the quarterback competition must be heating up. Arizona has invested in Rosen to become the franchise quarterback of the future. After all, Bradford is on the roster to win games until Rosen is ready.

Perhaps Wilks and the Cardinals staff want to see if they can carry two quarterbacks on the roster this season. Mike Glennon struggled against Los Angeles in the first preseason game. Charles Kanoff might see himself on the practice squad.

There is no question that the New Orleans defensive line will actively pursue the Cardinals quarterbacks. Arizona is ready to see how Rosen will react under that level of pressure. Just how many reps will Bradford receive?

Expect Rosen to enter the game late in the first quarter. He should face the Saints starting secondary to gauge their speed. How he adjusts, will determine his progression form college to the pro game.

Ball placement is key in the pro game. Rosen needs to prove that he makes good decisions in his progressions. There is no better way to find out than put him out with the starters. Let’s see how that plays out.
