The Chicago Bears take on the Denver Broncos in a preseason Week 2 matchup. They hope to get their first win. Here are three things to watch for in the game.

The 2018 season is just weeks away. At the end of this week, the preseason will be halfway over. Roster battles are more serious and bubble players become more desperate. The Chicago Bears have their fair share of battles and bubble players.

As a result of the Hall of Fame game, the Bears are playing in their third preseason game. That’s one extra game for the coaches to take a look at their players. They may get their first look at this year’s first-round draft pick Roquan Smith. He finally signed after a 29-day holdout. It isn’t known yet if he plays against the Denver Broncos this week.

There is still plenty to look for on Saturday, however. While the starters probably get more playing time than they did last week, it won’t be appreciably more. That’s saved for next week, when they play at least an entire half.

That means players who need to make an impression on the coaching staff get a long look. As I mentioned, this is their third shot so time is running out. If they’ve been less than impressive they need to change things around this week. If not, they may see their snaps reduced considerably in favor of those making the right impressions.

Let’s take a look at three things to watch for in the Chicago Bears’ preseason Week 2 matchup.
