The preseason debut for the Denver Broncos didn’t go as they had planned, here are three things to keep an eye on as they hit the field in Preseason Week 2
The Denver Broncos played the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 of the 2018 NFL Preseason and very little went according to plan. They ended up losing 42-28, but the real issue was how things looked for the starters.
On defense, they allowed the Vikings to march right down the field for a score. That’s not a huge worry as defenses are pretty vanilla in these contests — mainly they’re trying to work on communication and conditioning.
The real issue came when their own offense was on the field. New quarterback Case Keenum struggled and ended up with five yards on just 1-of-4 passing. It’s too early to panic, but the team needs to make some adjustments going forward.
Here we will look at three things to keep an eye on as they take on the Chicago Bears. These are things that could truly help them as they hope to become a better team and rebound from a subpar 2017 season.
Honorable mention
Royce Freeman rocked it last week, rumbling for 38 yards and a touchdown on just four carries. The rookie third-round pick was part of a highly impressive draft class and could be in line to start this season. While he didn’t make the top three, the Broncos could benefit from having a better run game — something he may provide.
