Washington Redskins: 3 Things to watch in Preseason Week 2
2. Will it get chippy?
Since the beginning of the summer, several Washington players, namely linebacker Zach Brown, were calling out former teammate, Terrelle Pryor on Twitter. The history behind their beef is unknown, however, it’s apparent Pryor didn’t endear himself to teammates during his disappointing season in Washington.
Sunday’s practice saw several battles. Things got out of control and Gruden was none too happy when discussing it with the media afterward. Things did calm down on Monday and Tuesday, though.
One player to watch is safety D.J. Swearinger. One of the captains, Swearinger often wears his emotions on his sleeve and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. After a play on Tuesday when safety Montae Nicholson broke up a pass in the end zone intended for Pryor, Swearinger went after the receiver, even pulling his arm back like he was going to hit him. He didn’t. But he had a few choice words for Pryor.
Should the teams be concerned this will happen on Thursday? Probably not. Both teams appeared to get this out of their system this week and Thursday’s game should be fairly uneventful.
