The Buffalo Bills face the Cleveland Browns on Friday, Aug. 17 in Week 2 of the 2018 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

This Preseason Week 2 matchup actually has a lot of connections. The Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns made a couple of trades this offseason and were also tied to a couple of the same gunslingers in free agency and the draft.

After trying to trade for A.J. McCarron last season, everyone assumed the Browns would go out of their way to sign him in free agency this season. That didn’t happen as Cleveland instead traded for Tyrod Taylor — who had just led the Bills to their first playoff appearance since 1999. From there, McCarron went to the Bills and will fight for a starting spot.

At best, he would be a bridge quarterback — although he may not beat out Nathan Peterman for that job. Taylor was considered the same for Cleveland, and that’s because both teams were expected to draft quarterbacks early on. Cleveland ended up taking Baker Mayfield first overall, but there were whispers they liked Josh Allen as well, who is also now with Buffalo.

We will see plenty of both of the rookies on Friday night, without question. But it could be what we see from the rest of the Browns and Bills players that will ultimately have the greatest affect on how the 2018 season will play out.

Another connection between these teams is wide receiver, Corey Coleman. The Browns shipped off their former first-round pick just before their first game, and Coleman could be on the field against his former team this Friday.
