3. Rodgers to Graham connection looks real

Even if you missed the game, you probably heard about Jimmy Graham‘s touchdown reception from Aaron Rodgers in the first quarter. It was an encouraging sign considering Green Bay’s tight end experiment from last season didn’t work out so well with Martellus Bennett.

The eight-yard touchdown came on a beautiful off-balance throw from Rodgers in the face of pressure, right as Graham cut inside on his route. Although it was the only connection of the game between the two, it was clear Graham will be one of the biggest (pun-intended) red zone threats in 2018. It was also the only drive for both Rodgers and Graham.

At 6-7, 265 pounds, Graham poses one of the most unique redzone weapons Rodgers has ever had in his career. Even though he may have lost a step athletically, the catch-radius Graham provides inside the 20-yard line is undeniable. Rodgers has talked about Graham’s match up problems all offseason, and the final product was on display Thursday night.

Graham also got to experience his first-ever Lambeau Leap, something Packers fans should get used to seeing as the 2018 season wears on. Green Bay will be one of the toughest teams to match up against in the red zone.
