Josh Bellamy doesn’t get anything

After a season of horrible wide receiver play, the Bears front office made improvements. With the added receivers, Josh Bellamy, who was the team’s second-leading receiver in 2017, is on the bubble this season. Some expect him to make the team because of his special teams play, but Bennie Fowler, who is younger, is also a good special teams player. Additionally, he caught some passes and looked good. He and Javon Wims, who also looked pretty good, helped the Bears offense on the final two drives that resulted in touchdowns.

Bellamy got a big zero in the game. He spent his time during practices this week getting into it with Broncos players. Considering his status not just this season but from his play throughout his career, he talks way too much. I understand it coming from one of the top players, but to talk so much when you’re a pedestrian player is not something that should happen.

This was a bad time for Bellamy to miss time. The dress rehearsal is next week and the top players will get a lot of playing time. If a player wants to make an impression on the coaches, doing it against quality opposition is a good way to do it. At the very least, having the coaches get a longer look at other players means they are losing some faith in Bellamy.
