The second week of the preseason for the Dallas Cowboys is complete and though there was some good and bad, the game is just another step towards the regular season.

Now at the halfway point of the 2018 NFL preseason schedule, the Dallas Cowboys have played in two games where they have been some good, some bad and even worse, a couple injures that they really didn’t need to see occur.

It is never a good day when Zack Martin has to leave the game due to injury, no matter the seriousness of the injury (there is a MRI scheduled for Sunday), or having other important players such as seeing defensive back Xavier Woods leave the preseason contest with an injury too.

On the positive side, Dak Prescott did what he needed to do in preparation of the the 2018 season, going 10-of-15 for 86 yards with one touchdown pass and no interceptions. Prescott’s touchdown pass was a six-yard pass to Terrance Williams in the second quarter, completing a 16-play drive that went 82 yards.

Prescott has played well in his short time on the field this preseason, and next week is the game to be excited for as Week 3 of the preseason is usually the week it has a regular season game feel to it.

As for this second week of the preseason on Saturday night, the Cowboys showed some progress, even with the defensive reserves allowing 21 points in the second half, resulting ins a 21-13 preseason loss for the Cowboys against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Even with the injuries suffered on Saturday night, seeing the severity of those injuries is something to keep a look out for. For the Cowboys as an entire team, there was some positive, some negative and as with all NFL teams this time of the year there is plenty to work on.

Here are 3 big takeaways from Week 2 of the preseason for the Cowboys.
