24. Buffalo Bills (23)
They may have won, but it really wasn’t all that pretty. The Buffalo Bills are still trying to figure out their quarterback situation and A.J. McCarron got the start this week against the Cleveland Browns. That turned out ugly as he orchestrated a couple three and outs before an injury sent him to the sidelines. Reports surfaced during the game that it was a hairline fracture in his collarbone, which makes the three-way race for the signal caller job a two-man race.
First up this week for that tryout was Josh Allen as he replaced McCarron. Allen again showed flashes of what the Bills liked about him in the draft. He has a strong arm and finished 9-of-13 with 60 yards and a touchdown. The game doesn’t look too big for him and he’s not making huge mistakes. He does however still need to work on his touch, but the early results are promising.
Nathan Peterman followed him and had another strong outing. He’s put his five-interception debacle from a year ago behind him and looks to be in full command of this team. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him the Week 1 starter, even though Allen is the future. Even with the promise there, this team has a long way to go and 2018 could be a tough year.
