23. New York Giants (26)

Davis Webb seemed to redeem himself for the New York Giants in his outing against the Detroit Lions — making it a race again for the backup spot behind Eli Manning. With Manning sitting this one out, Webb got the start and he was shorthanded as rookie running back Saquon Barkley was out with a hurt hamstring and Odell Beckham, Jr. didn’t give it a go yet either after missing most of last season with an ankle injury that required surgery.

Webb had 140 yards and a touchdown to running back Wayne Gallman, which was a far cry from his 70-yard performance the week before that included a lot of misfires. He was thoroughly outplayed by rookie Kyle Lauletta in that one against the Browns but proved why the Giants liked him in this one.

As for Lauletta, he got very limited opportunities here. He had just five passes and completed only two of them. Still, the Giants won easily, taking the game 30-17 against the Detroit Lions.

New coach Pat Shurmur had to be encouraged by how the team came out after looking flat a week ago at home against the Browns. They have a shot to make some noise this season, following a rough year last season — provided of course everyone gets healthy.
