With the Dallas Cowboys halfway through the 2018 preseason, we look at five guys who need a strong showing in the final two weeks to make the 53-man roster
2017 wasn’t a great season for the Dallas Cowboys, even if it wasn’t as bad as it felt. They fell apart at the end of the year but still finished 9-7 on the season, just missing out on the postseason.
What made it feel so bad was the dark cloud hanging over the team all season long. Running back Ezekiel Elliott was suspended by the league for six games due to a domestic violence allegation and then spent most of the season fighting it in court. In the end, he had to serve the suspension and then left tackle Tyron Smith started to deal with injuries. The combination was too much to bare and Dallas finished the year 4-4.
Their goal this season is to put that second half of the season behind them and become a better franchise. In an effort to do that, they added talent at many positions to force competition for roster spots.
With that happening, we now see some guys sitting on the roster bubble. Here are five such players trying to fight their way off that bubble in the final two weeks of the season.
