3. Mike Hughes scores a KR/PR TD combo

So far, the Vikings have been giving Mike Hughes every opportunity to prove himself as a quality return man. Although we haven’t exactly seen fireworks go off just yet, the rookie first-round pick is lightning in a bottle.

At some point, Hughes is going to take one to the house. He did it quite often during his time at UCF, scoring two kick return touchdowns and one punt returner touchdown in 2017. On Friday, he’s going to remind fans of why he was worth passing on an offensive lineman to snag at No. 30 overall back in April.

On top of showing impressive skills in coverage, Hughes will go off in the return game. To start things off, he’ll take the opening kickoff back for six points. Then, in the second half, while standing in for Marcus Sherels as the punt returner, he’ll strike paydirt again. Pulling off the return touchdown duo will ensure that he has a role on special teams as a rookie.

That is, if the Vikings even want to risk him getting hurt in the return game. Hughes has been outstanding in coverage through two games, showing an uncanny ability to read receivers’ routes and make plays on the football. If he keeps it up, he may play himself out of an opportunity to make an impact as a returner.

The future looks bright for Hughes. If this bold prediction comes true, he could soon be one of the most dangerous dual threats in the NFL.
