Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks: NFL Preseason Week 3 Bold predictions
1. Vikings QBs combine for four passing TDs
Despite the pressure, the Vikings are still going to have fun taking advantage of the Seahawks’ lack of talent in the secondary. The Legion of Boom is no more, and the current Seattle cornerback depth chart has been patched together with tape and glue.
That’s going to mean very good things for Cousins, Siemian and Sloter.
Through two games, the Seattle secondary has only given up two passing touchdowns. However, they’ve yet to pull off a single interception and haven’t really held anyone in check. When players like Phillip Walker and Geno Smith enjoy big success against you, it’s clear there’s a problem.
So when the Seahawks cornerbacks and safeties face the talents of Cousins, Siemian and Sloter, it’s going to yield ugly results for Seattle. Between the Vikings’ three quarterbacks, four touchdowns will be thrown and the yards will rack up like hitting the jackpot in Vegas. A passing clinic will be put on by Minnesota, even in the face of six sacks and consistent pressure.
John DeFilippo is setting his quarterbacks up for success, installing quick routes, play action and run-pass options to counteract the pass rush. Although it doesn’t always mean the sack is avoided, it’ll lead to plenty of points on the board in 2018.
In this case, it ends in a W for the Vikings. Sounds like Seattle is headed for 0-3.
