The Indianapolis Colts got the best news that they could possibly hope for just a few weeks ago. After sitting in the worst position possible in recent years, Andrew Luck was allowed to start throwing a football again. That led to him actually taking the field in the NFL preseason last week. Now he’ll get back out there again on Monday night as they welcome the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2 of the preseason.
For the Ravens part, they’re a team with plenty excitement about them as well. They moved back into the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft to take Lamar Jackson, which has since had everyone buzzing about them. The electric rookie has been talked about as the usurper of Joe Flacco coming into the preseason, but that looks a bit far-fetched coming into this matchup with the Colts considering how the two guys have performed.
Luck isn’t the only thing to watch for this Colts team, however. Former general manager Ryan Grigson absolutely decimated this roster during his tenure at the helm of the team. New GM Chris Ballard, as such, has been working to try and remedy his predecessor’s mistakes. It’s fun at this point to check in on how that’s coming along.

Both the Colts and Ravens have numerous questions left to be answered. While we’ve seen each franchise separately reach high heights not that long ago, it does feel like long ago since that’s been the case. On Monday night, we’ll see how close each group is at getting back to that point — or, perhaps unfortunately, how far away they each are.
