Let’s take a look at one surprise player looking to stay hot from each team during Week 3 of the 2018 NFL Preseason.

With two weeks officially in the books, the 2018 NFL Preseason is flying by quick as expected for football fans, meaning it’s only a matter of time before September is here, and the more meaningful games get underway. This time of year may seem annoying to some football fans since the argument can be made that preseason lasts longer than it should, but in reality, it’s an important time for players looking to make more of a case for themselves for a roster spot during the 2018 season.

Take John Kelly for example, as the Los Angeles Rams rookie started training camp deep on the depth chart at running back, and could end up winning the backup role to Todd Gurley if he continues to impress over these final two weeks. The Rams knew they had nothing to lose in the former Tennessee star during this year’s draft when they used a sixth-round pick on Kelly, and if he ends up earning the backup running back job over Malcolm Brown and Justin Davis, this could be one of the biggest surprises from the preseason.

Even if Kelly’s carries were limited once the regular season rolls around since Gurley is a workhorse and will stay on the football field as much as possible, Sean McVay will figure out a way to use him as much as possible. Along with Kelly looking to continue making a surprise impact, here are some other surprise impact players from each team looking to remain hot in Week 3 of the preseason.
