The Green Bay Packers had two excellent performances in their first two preseason games. Here are three things to watch in Preseason Week 3.

Through just two weeks of the preseason the Green Bay Packers have already scored 82 points. At first glance, one might think they’re merely exhibition games. But Mike McCarthy has the offense looking the best it’s been since 2014, which, mind you, is the last time Aaron Rodgers won an MVP award.

This current Packers offense is going to be dominant — nobody is questioning that. But it’s Green Bay’s defense, led by a stout defensive line, that could be the X-factor leading into the season. The Packers defense has had a flurry of disappointing seasons over the past few years, but the expectations are quickly rising for 2018.

As the Packers get ready for their third preseason game, there will be several things to look for. The third exhibition game is traditionally when starters play the most — usually the whole first quarter — although all indications are pointing towards the possibility that some of Green Bay’s starters may be rested.

With a slew of high-profile positional battles still up for the taking, most notably the backup quarterback spot, Friday night’s matchup against the Oakland Raiders could be the time to shine for certain individuals.

With that said, let’s take a look at the three biggest things to watch for in Green Bay’s third preseason game.
