2. Dallas Goedert

One of the best things we can take away from the first two games of the preseason is the play of Eagles rookie tight end Dallas Goedert. His play on the field already has Eagles fans salivating at the thought of both him and Zach Ertz on the field together. Goedert will be a key player to keep an eye on this week, just so we can have a better idea how the Eagles are going to use him.

Since Ertz will be getting a lot more reps this week it will be interesting to see if that squashes the amount of appearances that we see from Goedert. In his first two preseason games Goedert has seven receptions for 123 yards and one touchdown. He has set himself apart from all the other rookies on the field and seems ready for a bigger spotlight.

The hopes for many fans is to see both Ertz and Goedert on the field at the same time. That duo should be able to create mismatches against any defense in the league. The only question is: Will the Eagles use Goedert together with Ertz? Or will he be a backup only to get playing time when Ertz is in need of rest?

This week’s matchup should give us a good idea what the Eagles intentions are with Goedert. Hopefully coach Doug Pederson is able to find a way to keep both playmakers on the field so the Eagles can get the most out of their emerging talent.
