The San Francisco 49ers face the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, Aug. 25 in Week 3 of the 2018 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Going into last season, quarterback was an issue for the both the San Francisco 49ers and the Indianapolis Colts, one that plagued each team for most of the year. s we come into the 2018 NFL season though, those questions no longer exist. For the 49ers, that’s because they traded for Jimmy Garoppolo last year. As it pertains to the Colts, they’re getting Andrew Luck back finally from injury. On Saturday afternoon, these two gunslingers will face off in Week 3 of the preseason.

Luck still is getting into a groove, so we should see a good deal of him from the Colts on Saturday afternoon. He missed all of last year with a shoulder injury, but as he returns, new general manager Chris Ballard clearly wants to protect his quarterback. That’s why he invested the sixth-overall pick in the 2018 draft in Quenton Nelson on the offensive line, who could help this team make a big jump forward.

The 49ers too could see a big jump forward this season as they’ve been rebuilding. Garoppolo is obviously central to their plans, but he’s not alone. They also have some elite defensive pieces like Reuben Foster and DeForest Buckner, and not to mention new addition Richard Sherman. As such, it’ll be fun to see where head coach Kyle Shanahan has this team with the regular season looming so close ahead.

It’s not hard to imagine a number of different outcomes in the 2018 season for both the 49ers and the Colts. These teams have upside, but they might be a bit away still from taking the leap that they would like to. In that vein, however, we’ll get a look to see how close San Fran and Indy are to making that jump as they head in the right direction.
