4. Falcons defense will finish the year as a top-five unit

I never thought we’d see the day the Falcons defense would be so highly-touted heading into the regular season. However, thanks to some incredible coaching by Dan Quinn, and solid choices in recent NFL Drafts from Thomas Dimitroff, this Dirty Birds defense is finally mature and legit. It goes without saying, but they are going to be really, really good in 2018.

Im my opinion, the Falcons defense is loaded from top-to-bottom. Other than some questions surrounding the depth of the team’s defensive line, Atlanta has big-time playmakers in each position on the field.

Whether it’s Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen in the secondary, or Robert Alford and Desmond Trufant on the outside, or Deion Jones in the middle, or even Takk McKinley and Vic Beasley at defensive-end; these Falcons are ready to dominate and win a championship in 2018.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: as good as this Atlanta offense will be this year, I have a feeling their defense could be even better. It’s a scary thought for opposing teams, but a very welcoming reality for Dirty Birds fans who’ve endured years upon years of average to bad defense.
