The Green Bay Packers wrapped up week three of the preseason with a loss in Oakland. What are three big takeaways from the most important preseason game?

It was a 13-6 loss for the Green Bay Packers on Friday night in Week 3 of the 2018 preseason at the hands of the Oakland Raiders. That brings their preseason record to 2-1. Of course, it doesn’t matter as everyone starts 0-0 in a couple weeks, but it’s still a good feeling when you win these games.

If you’re a fan of high scoring and lots of offense, this game wasn’t for you. After dropping 51 points on the Steelers last week, the Packers managed just six against an arguably worse Raiders defense. Overall, it was an ugly game for both sides.

The sloppiness came at a bit of a surprise. After being able to score with ease drive after drive last week, the offense came to a complete standstill. It was a complete opposite of games Packers fans are used to. Typically, it is the offense keeping the team in the game. However, it was the defense keeping the Packers in the game throughout the night.

Reggie Gilbert saved a touchdown early in the game. He has had an amazing preseason and will likely make the 53-man roster.

With only one game to go, the backups have to make the most of what chances they have left. For some, these final weeks may be the last time they are on an NFL roster. For others, the last two weeks will be the reason they make the final roster cuts on Sept. 1.
