Los Angeles Chargers: Make noise in the postseason
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers is an ageless wonder. He keeps playing at a high level and in 2017 he showed his worth once again. He threw for more than 4,500 yards and had only 10 picks with 28 touchdowns.
That was a far cry from the 21 interceptions he had the year before. He did that with injuries again affecting the players around him. Rivers never makes an excuse though and just keeps playing hard. He won’t even let a long drive stop him as he never moved to L.A. with the team.
Keeping his family in San Diego, Rivers used the commute to study film and will do so again this season. He and the Chargers have been a strong team, but their slow starts to the season have doomed them.
We should know early on what their fate will be. If they start slow, it’s going to be another long season. If they come out of the gates winning, they can upset some teams and steal a playoff spot. With Rivers under center, it also wouldn’t be crazy to see them upset some teams in the playoffs too should they get in.
