Things have taken a dark turn for the Dallas Cowboys over the past week. With a scary diagnosis of an auto-immune disease for Travis Frederick and other injuries piling up, they won’t be taking any chances. As such, they’ll be skipping the dress rehearsal game of the 2018 NFL preseason as they take on the Arizona Cardinals as the Cowboys will rest the majority of their starters on offense.
With that being the case, we won’t see any signs of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott on Sunday night. The same can be said of much of the offensive line, even those that aren’t injured. However, who we could see are defenders like Jaylon Smith and Taco Charlton, two young players trying to prove themselves in a major way this offseason. What’s more, the wide receiver and tight end groups will try to establish some order.
The Cardinals, on the other hand, are going to try and figure a great deal more out. Sam Bradford is likely the starter at quarterback, but they want to see more from rookie Josh Rosen. Moreover, they’d like to see players such as Budda Baker and other young defenders start to show out to establish themselves on new head coach Steve Wilks’ defense.

It’s hard to say what we could possibly learn about he Cowboys in this game on Sunday night. With the offensive starters sitting out, that’s a tough ask for Dallas to show too much. Having said that, the Cardinals are going to see plenty on the road. From Rosen to their young playmakers on both sides of the ball, this will be big for Arizona.
