2018 NFL Power Rankings: Concerns for Eagles following Week 3 preseason
By Dan Parzych
19. Dallas Cowboys (15)
Awful doesn’t even begin to describe how the Cowboys looked overall during Sunday’s game against the Cardinals after the team finished with eight turnovers while scoring just three points in the process. Of course, the outcome could have been much different for Dallas if the starters actually played in the game, which seems to be the case for most teams this preseason.
The decision to rest Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott was a no brainer for the Cowboys since they already know what this duo is capable of on offense, but Sunday’s game was still painful to watch. Clearly, Dallas has a lot of figuring out to do over the next week or so when it comes to certain players battling for roster spots since some of them didn’t make a strong case against Arizona.
Around this time last year, the Cowboys, like their division rivals in the Giants, were viewed as one of the early favorites in the NFC to make a run at the Super Bowl, and ended up coming just short. Losing previous key players in Dez Bryant and Jason Witten will take some adjusting, but hopefully some of the younger receivers can step up when the time comes.
