2018 NFL Power Rankings: Concerns for Eagles following Week 3 preseason
By Dan Parzych
13. Tennessee Titans (16)
Let’s just say the Tennessee Titans are one of those teams that are thankful it’s only preseason since they haven’t been able to win a single game, and are coming off a brutal loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers where they only scored six points. While the defense certainly deserves credit for limiting the Steelers to scoring just 16 points, this doesn’t take away from some of the struggles Marcus Mariota was dealing with on offense.
The former Oregon star came up big for Tennessee in the postseason last year, as Mariota pulled off some incredible plays to help his team upset the Kansas City Chiefs during Wild Card Weekend. But when seeing how Mariota finished the regular season with more interceptions than touchdown passes, this shows how much the Titans need him to step up in 2018.
Otherwise, it will be difficult for Tennessee to return to the playoffs for a second year in a row, and end up being a major disappointment after being declared one of the biggest winners from the offseason. By the time September arrives, here’s to hoping the Titans are out of their funk from the preseason, and can live up to the expectations, or it’s going to be a long year.
