Seattle Seahawks: 5 Reasons they’ll make the playoffs in 2018
By Samuel Teets
Russell Wilson can carry the offense
Surprise! This should’ve been easy to guess. Wilson is the heart and soul of the Seahawks, without him the team can’t win. In the past the defense was able to secure victories but now that responsibility has been shifted to the offense and largely to Wilson who has managed to thrive despite not having a terrific supporting cast.
I’ve discussed at length that the offensive line, with the exception of Duane Brown, is lacking. On most teams this would be a fatal flaw, but Seattle makes it work. More accurately, Wilson makes it work. He is so dynamic and agile that he can do things most other quarterbacks can’t. He can turn broken plays into successes and can bring out the best in plays, even when he’s being chased by defenders.
On top of his natural agility and elusiveness, Wilson is an incredible football talent. Just last season his name was regularly thrown around in the conversation for the MVP award. The only think that took him out of the race was his team failing to make the playoffs. And that wasn’t his fault at all. He did everything he could for them.
2018 gives the Seahawks another chance to make the playoffs and fulfill their unfulfilled dream of winning another Super Bowl. While bringing a Lombardi to Seattle is unlikely, Wilson will put his team in position to make the postseason. You can count on it.
