Browns vs. Lions live stream: Watch NFL Preseason Week 4 online
By Randy Gurzi
The Cleveland Browns face the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Thursday, Aug. 30 in Week 4 of the 2018 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The preseason is finally nearing an end. We all waited forever for it to get here and after three grueling weeks, the final exhibition games will be played. One matchup taking place on Thursday is the Detroit Lions hosting the Cleveland Browns.
Detroit enters this one without a ton of questions pertaining to their roster, but there is one player with a recognizable name who could use a big night.
Running back Ameer Abdullah was a second-round selection out of Nebraska in 2015. Detroit expected him to be their franchise back, but he has yet to live up to his status. He’s now fighting for a job after Detroit signed LeGarrette Blount in the offseason and spent a 2018 second round pick on Auburn’s Kerryon Johnson.
While he will primarily be on the field with backups, this could be the last shot for Abdullah to earn a role with the team that drafted him.
On the other side, the Browns will likely see a lot of quarterback Baker Mayfield. The No. 1 overall pick is slated to back up Tyrod Taylor this season but can use all the reps he can get to ensure he’s ready if they do need to call upon him during the regular season.
Other players fighting for a job could include guard Spencer Drango, who has severely struggled and the team did just sign veteran Earl Watford for depth at that position.
