The Los Angeles Chargers face the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium on Thursday, Aug. 30 in Preseason Week 4. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
The Los Angeles Chargers seemingly angered the deities in charge of luck some time ago, as injuries have long plagued talented teams. Still, that won’t stop people from backing the Chargers and their 2018 chances. The same can be said of the NFL Preseason Week 4 opponents, the San Francisco 49ers. With Jimmy Garoppolo now leading the way, the 49ers are definitely a popular pick to surprise this season.
Jimmy G now firmly entrenched as the 49ers’ franchise quarterback is critical. He gives Kyle Shanahan, a noted offensive genius, the guy he needs to implement his famous offense. With weapons like Jerick McKinnon — though he’s nursing an injury — and 2017 breakout player Marquise Goodwin, this offense could be lethal. However, their success may come down to how Richard Sherman and the defense perform.
Meanwhile, Philip Rivers and the Chargers are loaded with weapons, even after losing Hunter Henry for the year. Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Melvin Gordon are all big-time weapons. And the defense has plenty of talent to throw around as well. Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram and plenty others could anchor a top unit in 2018.

These two teams could be among those that ultimately define what happens this year. However, they have to get out on the field and prove it, which players will try to do for roster spots on Thursday as well.
