New Orleans Saints: A.J. Klein

By losing their first two games of 2017, the New Orleans Saints seemed to be heading towards another season of disappointment while finishing below .500 since that’s how things had been over the last few years. Turns out, the Saints were a completely different football team from previous seasons thanks to an improved defense, an area that was always a major weakness.

When looking at all of the competitive teams in the NFC South, New Orleans deserves plenty of credit for coming out on top the way they did since the division race went right down to the wire. Once again, the Saints will enter the new season as one of the early favorites to make a run at the Super Bowl in the NFC, but if that is going to happen, the defense will need to continue playing at a high level.

Of course, there are some players the Saints could arguably do without on the defensive side of the football, such as A.J. Klein at linebacker. Giving Klein another chance to prove himself seems tempting since it’s only his second season in New Orleans, but also the last thing the team wants is to see the defense held back from poor play at the position.
