Philadelphia Eagles: Darren Sproles

Losing Darren Sproles early on for the season at the beginning of last year was a crushing blow for the Philadelphia Eagles at the time when looking at how many different ways they could use the veteran, whether it was on offense or special teams. Sproles is one of those skilled players that shouldn’t be taken lightly as a result of his height since the blazing speed he possesses can turn any small play into a big gain.

As Eagles fans are well aware, Doug Pederson made it clear that he wanted to make sure Sproles would be back for the 2018 season since he knows what his running back is capable of. But if Philadelphia were looking at an overall team perspective with some of the other running backs capable of making an impact, it’s tough not to wonder if the Eagles would be better off moving on from the veteran running back.

With Jay Ajayi and Corey Clement already securing spots, other players like Josh Adams are going to be difficult to ignore when looking at some of their potential, and the last thing Philadelphia wants is to see him or other prospects end up on another team. If moving on from Sproles gives the Eagles a better chance of repeating, it needs to be taken into consideration.
