Here are three reasons why the trade to the New Orleans Saints was the best thing to ever happen to Teddy Bridgewater.

As teams continue to trim down their rosters to 53 players, Teddy Bridgewater is still trying to fully process the surprise events from this week in which he found out the New York Jets were sending him to the New Orleans Saints as part of a trade. After signing with the Jets in free agency, Bridgewater was in consideration for the starting job at quarterback if the team decided to hold off on playing Sam Darnold right away.

Turns out, New York is taking the smart approach by playing their rookie quarterback right away since the early experience will help him reach the necessary level to get this offense moving in the right direction after all the years of struggling for the most part. Even if Darnold experiences some of the typical rookie struggles right away, the Jets realize this will be a learning process, and while Bridgewater would have been great for this season, he wasn’t going to be the answer in the long run as the starter.
