2. Bridgewater joins a strong playoff contender

With all due respect to the Jets, just about every football fan assumes this team isn’t going to have what it takes to be a playoff contender in the 2018, and could even experience a year or two of rebuilding, especially with Darnold under center. As much as the team wants to say they’re capable of being a serious contender, most rookie quarterbacks go through some growing pains during their first season of action, especially if Darnold isn’t going to have the strongest of weapons to work with on offense.

If Bridgewater ended up being the starter, the situation would have been the same for him since New York appears to still be a work in progress on the offensive side of the football. But when it comes to being part of the Saints, it’s the complete opposite for the new backup quarterback to Drew Brees.

New Orleans turned out to be one of the best surprises from last season when seeing how they overcame a 0-2 start before winning their next eight games, and taking home the NFC South title. And with all of the great talent to work with on both sides of the football once again, the Saints are already considered an early candidate to make a run at this year’s Super Bowl in the NFC.
