FanDuel Fantasy Football: Building the perfect DFS lineup for Week 1
WR1: A.J. Green, Cincinnati Bengals, $8,400
Average FanDuel Points Per Week: 11.8
Opponent: Indianapolis Colts
A.J. Green may be coming off one of his worst seasons to date, but he’s still one of the best wide receivers in the business. With his mix of size, speed and strength, he’s more than capable of going off on any given Sunday. Luckily for him, a matchup with the Indianapolis Colts and their miserable pass defense should be just what he needs to get this fantasy season off on the right foot.
WR2: JuJu Smith-Schuster, Pittsburgh Steelers, $7,000
Average FanDuel Points Per Week: 12
Opponent: Cleveland Browns
It may seem strange to target a Pittsburgh Steelers receiver not named Antonio Brown. However, as you probably know, it’s not realistic to grab all of the top pass catchers when setting your FanDuel lineups. So JuJu Smith-Schuster it is. The Steelers’ No. 2 receiver was a pleasant surprise a season ago, and figures to shine even brighter as a sophomore. The Cleveland Browns’ secondary is average at best, meaning Smith-Schuster could see plenty of big-play opportunities.
WR3: Cordarrelle Patterson, New England Patriots, $4,600
Average FanDuel Points Per Week: 4.4
Opponent: Houston Texans
Now here’s your weekly headscratcher. For most of his NFL career, Cordarrelle Patterson has been completely irrelevant. It’s understandable if you’re skeptical of his inclusion on this list of “perfect” options for your FanDuel lineup. Consider this, though: the Patriots’ original 53-man roster included three receivers. Patterson is either No. 2 or No. 3 on the depth chart, meaning he should see plenty of passes coming his way. For $4,600, he’s worth the risk.
Other top options: Stefon Diggs, Minnesota Vikings, $7,400; Michael Crabtree, Baltimore Ravens, $6,600
