FLEX: Adrian Peterson, Washington Redskins, $6,300

Average FanDuel Points Per Week: 7.3
Opponent: Arizona Cardinals

Before you lose your marbles, let me spell out why Adrian Peterson is still fantasy relevant now that he’s joined the Washington Redskins.

I know it seems counterintuitive. Peterson was lackluster in 2017, his first year away from the Vikings. Between stints with the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints, he struggled to move the ball on the ground, averaging only 3.4 yards per carry while striking paydirt only twice.

With that said, Peterson looked great during the preseason. The Redskins desperately need a capable running back after losing Derrius Guice to a season-ending injury. Although the future Hall of Famer should lose touches to Chris Thompson and Rob Kelley, it seems reasonable to imagine him receiving at least 15 carries against the Cardinals.

As it so happens, Arizona isn’t exactly adept at disallowing big fantasy performances by running backs. Look for Peterson to take advantage on Sunday, putting together his first 100-yard game in D.C.

Other top options: Chris Hogan, New England Patriots, $6,700; Royce Freeman, Denver Broncos, $6,000
