Jacksonville Jaguars: Jalen Ramsey will deliver each Sunday
By Larry Brake
Jalen Ramsey, the heart of the Jacksonville Jaguars defense, speaks from his soul and plays at a higher level than most.
Everyone agrees that the Jacksonville Jaguars have a budding elite shutdown cornerback in Jalen Ramsey. He is known for constantly talking on the field and getting under the skin of opposing wide receivers. Ramsey backs up his talk with action. Remember the old saying, “actions speak louder than words”? Can you think of any time that Ramsey shied away from a challenge? Actually, he thrives on competition.
Recently, Ramsey garnered national attention for his analysis of NFL quarterbacks. Later, his thoughts on Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola were made public via ESPN. Is he providing bulletin board material to his future opponents?
Even Tony Dungy gave his thoughts on the matter, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk:
"“I hope one of Jalen Ramsey’s coaches or teammates tells him that he is a player and not a broadcaster at this point in his career,” Dungy said on Twitter … “He’s a great player. He needs to concentrate on his job and leave the analysis of other players to the media.”"
Ramsey will lock up with Odell Beckham Jr. this Sunday in New York. All eyes will be watching this matchup. This is not Ramsey’s first matchup against a superstar wide receiver. Expect him to deliver on Sunday.
After all, he faced Antonio Brown, A.J. Green and DeAndre Hopkins last season. He fared very well in those matchups. Why would you expect anything less, especially after those media interviews were made public?
The Jaguars have winning on their agenda for 2018. Winning brings about a change in the teams culture and mindset. Doug Marrone and his coaching staff have had a huge hand in the transformation.
Ramsey will deliver each Sunday, that’s a guarantee. There’s no need to worry about ruffling the feathers of opponents. This is the NFL. If a player needs bulletin board material to perform each week, he will not last long.
