Seattle Seahawks (0-0) at Denver Broncos (0-0)

Sunday, Sept. 9, 4:25 PM ET

Right now, there seems to be a lot of optimism surrounding the Seattle Seahawks’ chances of staying in the playoff hunt in 2018. Based on all of the change the club underwent this offseason, though, it’s misled.

The Seahawks are not the team they used to be. With the offensive line in shambles, only one legitimate offensive weapon and the defense looking like Swiss cheese, it could very well be a rough season for Seattle. We’ll see evidence of this impending doom here in Week 1.

Now, I will say that the Denver Broncos aren’t a contender either. Even with Case Keenum under center and a couple of young players just starting to come into their own, this franchise is still a ways away from returning to the Super Bowl. Luckily for them, they don’t need to be Super Bowl favorites to beat the Seahawks on Sunday.

All they need is a strong performance from Keenum and consistent pressure on Russell Wilson. I don’t expect a ton of fireworks from this matchup, but it should provide fans with enough excitement to remind them that football is back.

Prediction: Broncos win 19-17
