With the start of a new 2018 NFL season getting underway, here are five head coaches already on the hot seat heading into Week 1.

Week 1 of the 2018 NFL season has officially arrived after football fans spent the last month hoping preseason would fly by, which it did since it seems like the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game was only yesterday between the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens.

In a matter of weeks, talk will begin to heat up over certain head coaches finding themselves on the hot seat if their respected teams are struggling, and even though it sounds unfair to start the conversation early, it’s going to happen anyway.

As bad as it sounds, there are a handful of coaches that are already feeling a ton of pressure to start off the new season on a hot note, whether it has to do with the results of last season or simply decisions made over the last couple of months.

Despite losing early on in the playoffs to the Tennessee Titans last January, Andy Reid’s job with the Kansas City Chiefs still seemed to be safe heading into 2018, but all of that could quickly change if the decision by the team to replace Alex Smith with Patrick Mahomes II ends up backfiring.

Facing the Los Angeles Chargers on the road for the opener in Week 1 is going to be far from easy for the Chiefs since they were one of the hottest teams in the NFL to close out last season by winning six of their last seven games. Along with Reid, here are a few other head coaches that will be facing heavy pressure heading into Week 1, and arguably deserve to be considered on the hot seat already, even if it does sound ridiculous to consider without a single game underway.
