The Tennessee Titans were a playoff team last season, but they’ll be headed back to the postseason in 2018 better than before.

Even though the Tennessee Titans were in the playoffs last season, they didn’t inspire much confidence in people. Their win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card Round was written off by many as a fluke — and it was to a degree — and they lost as expected to the New England Patriots the following week. However, the Titans aren’t looking to just be a team that falls out of the postseason picture in 2018.

Despite playing in a suddenly loaded AFC South, the Titans look primed to not just make a return to the playoffs, but be a much bigger threat in the postseason this time around. Yes, they’ll have to fight tooth and nail to win their division against the likes of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans. But even if not, they are more than capable of earning and AFC Wild Card spot once again.

Don’t believe me? Here are five reasons why the Tennessee Titans will be headed back to the playoffs this year.

5. The offensive arsenal is full

Two years ago, the glaring issue for the Titans on offense was their offensive weapons, particularly at wide receiver. That’s no longer the case, and the biggest reason why is that we’re about to get a full season of 2017 first-round pick Corey Davis. Davis missed much of last season dealing with injuries and trying to get his feet wet. However, when he played a big role come the playoffs, he showcased that he’s ready to make a substantial impact in this league.

Davis now joins a receiving corps that features underrated veteran Rishard Matthews, second-year speedster Taywan Taylor and solid depth with Tajae Sharpe. That also goes without mentioning the ever-reliable Delanie Walker at tight end back once again and the massive addition of Dion Lewis in the backfield. And if that weren’t enough, Derrick Henry is now official the guy in the Tennessee running back group, which is a welcome sight.

This is clearly the best group of weapons the Titans have had in some time. Marcus Mariota is surely rejoicing and, more importantly, we should see things start to really bloom with this group now.
