Philadelphia Eagles: 3 Bold predictions for Week 1 vs. Falcons
By Carl Naimoli
The Philadelphia Eagles are opening their season against one of the top teams in the NFC. Who will win this matchup to declare early NFC supremacy?
The NFL regular season has finally arrived! The defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will get the party started on opening night against the Atlanta Falcons. It’s time for the Eagles to begin their quest to be first NFL team to repeat as champions since 2004.
Week 1 they’ll face off against the aforementioned Falcons, the team that the Eagles beat in last years Divisional Round of the playoffs. Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and the Falcons come to town looking for revenge from their 15-10 playoff loss. Both teams are expecting big seasons and deep playoff runs, so there’s a chance that this could be a playoff preview.
The Eagles come into this match-up with the same quarterback, Nick Foles, who beat the Falcons last year. Although they were hoping that their MVP-caliber quarterback, Carson Wentz, would be available. Unfortunately for the Eagles, Wentz hasn’t yet been cleared to play by the team doctors. So, Eagles fans will have to rely on Super Bowl MVP Foles to shake off the preseason rust and let it fly.
This match-up could go either way as both teams have a ton of talent on the field. Will the Falcons come out hot looking for revenge? Or will the Eagles use their Super Bowl momentum to secure a Week 1 victory?
Here are three bold predictions for the Eagles Week 1 clash.
