2. Marcus Davenport

Once again, this is another player we don’t know much about. When the Saints traded up to draft Marcus Davenport, we all scratched our heads. Yes, the team needed some defensive help, but they had a few other needs too. The biggest worry was if Davenport would be ready for Week 1.

As for right now, we don’t really know. He had some action during the preseason but not much. For the most part, the team kept him under wraps and rightfully so. Even if he needs a little time to develop, the team still has Cameron Meredith and Sheldon Rankins.

However, Week 1 is the perfect time for Davenport to get his feet wet. If he doesn’t do it now, then there’s no point. Even if the Saints only put him in a few snaps or a quarter, it’s better than nothing. His tape from college was impressive but it only goes so far.

If there’s one player you should keep your eye on, it’s Davenport. Make sure to see how much the team utilizes him and if he’s able to keep up. He might need a bit more polishing but a lackluster Bucs offense is a good test for him.
