1. Alvin Kamara

For some fellow Saints fan, choosing Alvin Kamara might seem strange. There is a reason why he’s worth keeping an eye on, though. With Mark Ingram suspended for four games, Kamara will be getting a majority of the carries. With a larger workload, it’s going to impede his offensive role a bit.

Last season, Kamara was a jack-of-all-trades. He ran the ball, he caught passes and he ran for kickoffs. However, he and Ingram were splitting carries. This time, it all falls on Kamara and his ability to carry the run game. Considering it’s only his second year, there’s a potential for a slump.

That’s not to say Kamara will have a bad game. Like I mentioned before, the Bucs aren’t exactly a top-tier defense. It’s going to be a big change for Kamara because he was used a lot but not relied on as much. Maybe it’s a bit of an overstatement, but it’s going to affect his game.

Similar to Meredith and Davenport, Week 1 is a test for Kamara. It’s his chance to define his role and the same for Ingram. Seeing Kamara back in action is exciting no matter what happens. It’s a good idea to keep an eye on him and see if the Saints shift the offense at all so he can catch a break.
