As the Oakland Raiders prepare for Week 1, let’s take a look at how they match up against each team on the 2018 schedule.

After the Oakland Raiders traded edge-rusher Khalil Mack, Las Vegas dropped their win total a half-point from eight to 7.5. Should you take the under or over on the Silver and Black’s win-loss record?

Looking at the current schedule, the Raiders don’t have a tough road ahead. They’ll play against the AFC North and NFC West; both divisions have two playoff-caliber teams and a pair of squads that may be on the decline or rebuilding.

Of course, injuries change everything. If the quarterback, lead running back, a starting cornerback or pass-rusher go down, the coordinators must adjust accordingly. Nonetheless, that’s why it’s important to have depth.

Head coach Jon Gruden flipped the back end of the roster over the offseason, cutting and trading several picks from previous drafts. The Raiders will also rely on several new faces in the starting defense. Defensive play-caller Paul Guenther said he could shake things up at each level during the season (via Raiders.com):

"“We may rotate safeties, we may rotate corners, linebackers, D-line. We always rotate those guys so it’s going to be a work in progress as we work through the season.”"

Thus far, Gruden’s trades to upgrade the wide receiver position haven’t worked out. The Raiders released Martavis Bryant a little more than four months after they exchanged a third-round pick for him during April’s draft. Oakland sent defensive lineman Jihad Ward to the Dallas Cowboys for wide receiver Ryan Switzer and then traded him and a sixth-round pick to the Steelers for a fifth-rounder.

When factoring the blockbuster deal that sent Mack to the Chicago Bears, it’s fair to say it’s been an eventful offseason for the Silver and Black. With a Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Rams looming, we’ll take a look at the entire schedule and project wins, losses, scores and a final record for the 2018 season.
