Week 3: at Miami Dolphins

Still on the road, the Raiders head southeast to Miami. Despite all of the issues last season, the Silver and Black came away with a victory at Hard Rock Stadium. Quarterback Jay Cutler led the Dolphins offense, which made the challenge a little easier, but Oakland gets signal-caller Ryan Tannehill following a lost year because of an ACL tear.

Assuming cornerbacks Gareon Conley and Rashaan Melvin are healthy and available, the Dolphins don’t have a dominant wide receiver who can take over a game. Interior defensive linemen Maurice Hurst, P.J. Hall and Justin Ellis should have strong performances, stifling the run.

Running back Marshawn Lynch will attack the gap where Suh used to line up. He’ll log a 100-yard rushing performance en route to victory.

Prediction: Win | Score: 27-20 | Record: 1-2

Week 4: vs. Cleveland Browns

Times have changed. Don’t laugh at the Cleveland Browns. They have a much-improved roster under new general manager John Dorsey. He upgraded the offense at multiple spots.

The front office acquired quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wideout Jarvis Landry via separate trades, signed running back Carlos Hyde and selected tailback Nick Chubb in the second round of April’s draft. By the way, wide receiver Josh Gordon is slated to play a full season.

The Browns will battle with their offensive firepower, but the AC-DC connection featuring Carr and wideout Amari Cooper should scorch a new-look secondary still trying to figure things out. Carr breaks out with a 300-yard game for the win.

Prediction: Win | Score: 34-23 | Record: 2-2
