Here are three big takeaways from the Philadelphia Eagles win against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1.

The Philadelphia Eagles entered the 2018 season as the defending Super Bowl champions. It is never easy to open a season with a big target on your backs, and that is exactly what the Eagles did. To make it worse, they took on the Atlanta Falcons, whom the Eagles knocked out of the playoffs in 2017.

Atlanta was looking to avenge their devastating loss to the Eagles, and they started fast in trying to do so. They drove right down the field and got the ball to the one-yard line, but the Eagles defense, which helped them win their first Super Bowl had a fantastic goal-line stand to start the season.

Both defenses played well, as it was a low scoring game and both teams forced a couple of turnovers. However, it was the Eagles defense that helped push their team to victory. Philly’s defense showed once again that they are going to be a defense that will take over football games. Their bend don’t break mentality was on display as they only gave up one touchdown the entire game.

Outside of the Eagles dominant defense, here are three big takeaways from the Eagles Week 1 win over the Falcons.
