26. New York Giants (25)

Last season was rough for the New York Giants. They were expected to compete in the NFC East, but instead, they struggled to put it all together. They won just three games while losing 13. It led to a lot of change as head coach Ben McAdoo was fired and Pat Shurmur takes his place this season.

They did get the No. 2 overall pick because of their struggles, which led them to draft Saquon Barkley. It was a good start for him as he topped 100-yards — although he had to work for all of them as the Jaguars defense they faced was tough.

Odell Beckham, Jr. also returned after missing most of last season with a broken ankle. He also played his first game with his new massive contract. He didn’t disappoint with 11 receptions with 111 yards.

It wasn’t enough though as the Jaguars won 20-15. New York had a couple costly errors in this one that did them in. Eli Manning threw a pick-six to Jacksonville linebacker Myles Jack and a muffed punt ended any chances of a fourth-quarter comeback.

It’s not how they wanted the season to start, but there’s plenty of time left to turn things around — and it’s not like this was a pushover team they faced.
