Once again, in Week 1, the Dallas Cowboys performed like a team without a true plan on the field. That’s on the coach and it may be time to replace Jason Garrett.

Following an offseason where change was being preached, the Dallas Cowboys came out in Week 1 and looked exactly the same. After going 9-7 in 2017 and missing out on the playoffs, Dallas sold a new plan to a tired fan base.

Again, the inability to make a run was put on everyone except the head coach and his coordinators. After seeing the offense sputter all year, Jason Garrett was absolved by ownership. As was the play-caller Scott Linehan.

When the defense failed to create turnovers and make stops when they mattered most, it again had nothing to do with Garrett. Just like it wasn’t Rod Marinelli and his defensive game planning.

No, it was, of course, the players and several members of the coaching staff with much less influence than the three amigos. This led Dallas to them firing the majority of the assistants and bringing in new people like Sanjay Lal to coach the receivers and Kellen Moore — yes, that Kellen Moore — to coach the quarterbacks,

Defensively, their big change was to add Kris Richard, the former Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator, who now coaches the secondary.

Then in Week 1, they looked exactly the same as always. Flat, unprepared, and playing from behind. This is the Dallas Cowboys under Jason Garrett, and while it’s only one loss, it would be surprising if this was anything other than a repeat of last year.

If so, even the ultra-forgiven Jerry Jones has to consider replacing Garrett. Should he do that, here are five potential replacements to consider.
